Abstract

Practicing human centred design more frequently and consistently in the development of solutions for citizens from the public perspective might facilitate the design and implementation of projects, as well as increase the use and impact of such solutions for citizens. In this article, I share my professional experience in design and innovation through two recent consulting cases where I have practiced the theoretical frameworks of design thinking, service design and jobs to be done, which are based on the principle of designing by and for people. Through this writing I intend to nurture the reflections of those who work in the public sector, particularly in Latin America, where a path is being followed to apply these approaches in the development of public policy, programs and projects. This article is not a scientific research, it aims, from professional practice, to nurture the academic reflections of design thinking in the public sphere, and especially, to feed the implementation of this approach in the State.
