Abstract

The Inter-American Court of Human Rights analyzes four issues in the case of Lagos del Campo vs. Peru. First, the special protection of freedom of expression at the workplace. Second, the recognition of the right to job stability under the protection of the right to work set out in the Inter-American human rights instruments. Third, the protection of freedom of association covers any organization and its representatives that represent the legitimate interests of workers. Fourth, the inclusion of the payment of the retirement pension as a repair of the material damage. This decision is relevant as it sets the legal parameters regarding the above-mentioned subjects for the national normative systems.
