Based on qualitative research of case studies, legislation, court decisions and bibliographies on the subject, this study deals with the serious scourge of contemporary slavery in Brazil, from the perspective of its subsistence and the progress made by the country. This, from the denunciation of cases to the Inter-American Human Rights System, which inaugurated a series of actions and public policies by the State, to the jurisprudential reflexes that recently culminated in the recognition of the impre scriptibility of cases. It will also deal with other latent forms of contemporary slavery, with a focus on domestic slave labor.
