Exploration of labor in the pernambucan sugar cane lavorage: a study on the congress of degradance for Inter-American Court of Human Rights and its application in Brazil

The article intends to understand the concept of work degradation adopted by the Inter-American Court of Human Rights (HDI Court), based on Brazil’s condemnation in the case of Fazenda Brasil Verde, compared to what has been understood on the subject by the Regional Court Federal District 5 (TRF5), especially in relation to the sugar and alcohol sector in Pernambuco. Then, the judgment of the Inter-American Court was analyzed in the above case and 12 cases of the TRF5 jurisprudence. The research uses the inductive method and the technique of collecting bibliographic and documentary data. Thus, it was realized that sugarcane because they are in a vulnerable situation are exploited and subjected to degrading work conditions, contrary to the construction of the Inter-American Court on decent work.
